and I read an article in car and driver or motortrend where they ran a long term test on 2 cars, a corvette and accord i believe, they logged over 60k on the ododmeters and the general consensus based on the data they recorded in skidpad figures and body roll measurements and probably some others, all indicated that the shocks were more or less done. I personally wouldnt pay for shocks with 70k on them, unless I simply didnt have any or one missing and needed it just to make the car driveable. This test was several years ago maybe around the 97-99 timeframe if you care to look it up. Sorry I cant be more help but all i really remember from the article and the tests was the conclusion tat shocks should be changed right around that mileage mark to maintain their best performance levels.
